FAQ
Common questions
- Is the painting estimate template free?
- Yes. Fill it out and download it as a Word file or PDF. No signup, no watermark.
- How do you write an estimate for painting?
- Measure the surfaces rather than the floor, then price walls, ceilings and trim as separate lines. Doors, windows and cabinet doors go in as a count with a price each, not as square footage. Add prep, priming and the number of coats as their own lines so the customer can see what they are paying for.
- Should prep be its own line?
- Yes, and so should what prep does not include. Patching, caulking and sanding are real hours, and writing them down is what lets you say no later when someone expects wallpaper removal for free.
- What if the customer changes the colour after signing?
- Put the colour deadline on the estimate. A late change can mean a different number of coats, especially going from a dark colour to a light one, so the template has a line for how long the price holds and what a change costs.
You sent the estimate. Don't miss the call when they say yes.
When a customer calls back to book, you're usually on a job and can't pick up. EveryDial is your receptionist. It answers every call, books the work, and sends you the details, so you never lose a job you already won.
